Why I’m choosing an abdominal birth after 2 home births
So first things first... birth isn’t only a very physical experience, it’s also a hugely emotional one. Whatever your body goes through, your mind will too.

I had only ever made it to a midwife booking an appointment during our first pregnancy, which ended up being an ectopic, but other than that, I had never gotten this far and didn’t really know what to expect.

Our private doctor emailed and said Em could come off her progesterone support as the 8-week scan had been ok, which I know Em was happy about as they had been making her feel super bloated for weeks.

After the 6-week scan, I was overcome with the most amazing positive feeling, which definitely scared me. I was almost too frightened to visualise that baby with it being so early, but it became impossible not to daydream.

I am now in Scotland, on a 4-week campervan trip. Not ideal timing in the sense that we want/need to do an early scan, but actually quite good for being able to try and get through the days now we’re...

Saturday 27th June - initially, we had decided to go to Em and James' house on Sunday 28th July, which would have been 9 days after our transfer.
