Crowdfunding For PregnaHub® Local

Funding the first digital+community platform that connects expectant and new parents with support

About the Campaign

Every week, we hear another heart-breaking story, read another devastating report, or meet yet another traumatised parent and it all points to the same issue:

Maternity services are under immense strain.

Families are falling through the cracks.

Our whole society depends on people giving birth and raising the next generation. So why are we allowing systems to fail those doing this most fundamental, life-giving work?

We’ve seen how the right support can transform a pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood experience. But we’ve also seen how inconsistent and unequal that support is – particularly depending on where someone lives, their income, background, or support network.

We can do better.

And with your help, we will.

A Community-First Solution

For 6 weeks starting on the 28th April 2025, we are crowdfunding to raise £48,000 to build a new model of pregnancy and postnatal care – one that’s community-led, inclusive, and built around real families’ needs.

PregnaHub® Local combines digital and real-life community support, designed to bridge the gaps in pregnancy and postnatal care.

This pilot project will be the blueprint for a nationwide network of locally connected ‘PregnaHubs’, each designed to wrap around the maternity care already in place and ensure no parent ever feels lost, unsupported, or alone.

3 Key Tools:

We will bring equitable support to each area in the country by providing:

  • Multi-lingual educational videos and transcripts tailored to the local hospital and service provisions
  • Peer-to-peer support via online & in person groups and meet ups
  • A directory of support services for different needs. Local and national – charities, private, voluntary and NHS

Meet the Project Coordinator:

Hi, I’m Emiliana. I’ve been supporting expectant and new families for nearly a decade as a doula, antenatal educator, and maternity advocate. I’ve reached a point where I simply need to do more with my experience and expertise to help the desperate situation maternity care finds itself in.

We are launching our pilot project in Watford and the surrounding West Herts area, a place close to my heart, where I was born, where my children were born, and where I’ve supported hundreds of families.

This will enable me to keep close to the project and learn within a diverse community of people so we can lift and apply the model nationally in the most cost-effective way, to every area with a maternity unit.

The Gaps We’re Addressing

From a local perspective, recent local research and community feedback show that families in West Herts face key challenges:

  • Language and cultural barriers to antenatal information and care
  • Lack of peer connection
  • Limited support after hospital discharge
  • Lack of awareness of local support services

These issues are not unique to West Herts, but we’re starting here so we can build something that works, then apply it to other areas in the country.

To help us reach our crowdfunding target, we are running incredible prize draws to win a £500 Virgin Experience Day voucher or Watford Football Club prizes!
